Annual 04 - 05Q-O2 neemt in het muziekleven een specifieke plaats in. Door haar conceptuele uitgangspunten doet zij de grenzen van het traditionele concertcircuit vervagen en vindt zij toegangspoorten tot andere disciplines en nieuwe benaderingswijzen. Het twintigste eeuwse repertoire blijft hierbij wel zijn belang behouden, maar de klemtoon ligt op het zoeken en het nieuwe. Sinds 2006 is Q-O2 dan ook erkend als werkplaats voor experimentele hedendaagse muziek en verwante kunsten.Voor Q-O2 vormt het gedachtegoed van John Cage en de Fluxus-beweging een solide basis waarop het zijn artistieke doelstellingen en aspiraties ent. De draagwijdte en de artistieke relevantie van hun inzichten krijgen pas nu hun volle belang en reiken verder dan de traditionele concertsituatie
doundo/recycling G is een Q-O2-project geïnitieerd door Julia Eckhardt (altviool) en Ludo Engels (opname). Samen bouwden ze gedurende een jaar een klankreservoir op. Alle mogelijke schakeringen in een ‘prepared’ G-toon worden gezocht, gevonden, bespeeld, achter elkaar gezet. Boven-en ondertonen vervreemden soms tot quasi elektronische klanken.
Q-O2 stuurde de opnames vervolgens naar een selectie (klank)kunstenaars met de vraag ze verder te be/verwerken: Stefaan Quix / Sergio Merce / Lucio Capece / Jens Brand / Aernoudt Jacobs / Jim Denley / Stevie Wishart / Ludo Engels / Anne Wellmer / Els Van Riel / Manu Holterbach / Silvia Platzer

In Netwerk staan voor de eerste keer alle verschillende versies naast elkaar. Zo wordt in de loop van één avond de diversiteit in de benadering van diezelfde toon duidelijk en overzichtelijk.

Q-02 has a particular position in the contemporary music scene. By means of it's conceptual basic assumptions, it has a blurring effect on the traditional boundaries of the concert practice. The repertoire of the 20th century keeps its importance in this matter, but the emphasis lays on the search for the new. Since 2006 Q-02 is acknowledged as a working place for experimental contemporary music and related arts. For Q-02 the heritage of John Cage and the Fluxus movement forms a solid base on which it grafts its artistic goals and aspirations. The range and artistic relevance of their insights reach only now their full potential and stretche well beyond the traditional concert-situation.

doundo/recycling G is a Q-02-project initiated by Julia Eckhardt (alt-violin) and Ludo Engels (recordings). Together, they built a sound-archive over a one-year period. All possible variegations in a "prepared" G-tone are being searched, found, played and put together. The under- over- and uppertones sometimes alienate into almost electronic sounds.
Q-02 went on to send them to a various selection of (audio)artists and asked them to process, adapt and arrange the recordings: Stefaan Quix / Sergio Merce / Lucio Capece / Jens Brand / Aernoudt Jacobs / Jim Denley / Stevie Wishart / Ludo Engels / Anne Wellmer / Els Van Riel / Manu Holterbach / Silvia Platzer.

In Netwerk, these different versions are presented together during the same event for the first time. The presentation aims to show the complete diversity of approach of this elaborated G-tone in a clear and accessible way to the public.
